Oddience Technologies Limited (“Oddience”, the “Company”, “we” or “us”) values the personal data of the individuals (“Users”, “you”, “your”) who use our website, web application, or mobile application (the “Platform”). We ensure that your personal data is protected in strict accordance with best practices and applicable laws and regulations whenever you use our Platform. Please read this privacy notice (the “Notice”) to understand how we collect, use, share, process, and store your personal data.

The application of this Notice does not extend to services that are not owned or controlled by Oddience, including third-party websites, creators, project initiators, and social media platforms even if they are accessible on our Platform. You should read the privacy notices/policies of such third parties to understand their privacy practices.

The Information we Collect

To access the Platform and for optimal use, we collect personal data from you.

Personal data refers to the personally identifiable information which you submit to us when you use our Platform. They may include the following:

  1. Sign-up Data: This includes your full name, date of birth, nationality, residential address, email address and phone number, information you disclose in your profile and photograph. We may use this information for the purpose of know-your-customer (KYC) u, to comply with relevant regulations, process your requests, match you with an influencer or a brand according to your stated preference, etc. These sign-up data may include:
    • Social media profile information, such as your social media handles, follower count, impression and other profile data (“User Content”) which we may expressly require from you;
    • Demographic information, such as your gender, age, and information on individual preferences.
      Corporate information: information about the shareholders and directors at your company, and other key stakeholders.
  2. Sales/Marketing Data: This includes data
    • we collect when you sign up for our newsletter
    • you provide to our sales or marketing team at a physical outreach or event
    • you provide when you commence the process of onboarding on our Platform without completing it.
    You can choose not to allow us to use or disclose your personal information for direct marketing purposes by using the unsubscribe mechanisms, indicating your preference on the user settings page or by contacting us at support@oddience.io.
  3. Complaint Resolution Data: We collect and process your name, contact email, and phone number, including other information you voluntarily provide in relation to an issue you need us to resolve or feedback you provide, when you reach out to us on media such as our social media platforms or at dpo@oddience.io. This information is retained and used solely for the purpose of resolving the issues you raise.
  4. Business Request Data: These are data we request to specifically provide you with services you may require on our platform. These may include, in addition to the sign-up data, banking information, referee information, etc.
  5. Other Information:
    • Analytics - we analyse our relationships and transactional information to derive unique data. For example, we may generate propensities, attributes and/or scores for marketing, security or fraud purposes.
    • Information derived from your use of our website and other technical products - includes information regarding your interactions with our websites, applications or advertisements, including internet protocol (“IP”) address, device identifiers, settings, characteristics, advertising identity, browsing history, web server logs, server log records, activity log records, keystroke timing and other information collected using cookies and similar technologies. We may also use such data to improve features, website content and analyse data to develop products and services.
    • Audio and Visual Information – includes audio, electronic, visual or similar information relating to your user content, including photographs, video images, such as identifying the objects and scenery that appear, the existence and location within an image of face and body features and attributes, the nature of the audio, and the text of the words spoken in your user content.
    • Location-Related Information-We have access if you turn on the location services device setting. This includes things such as your IP addresses, global positioning system (“GPS”) location and, depending on the operating system you are using, other device signals.
  6. Cookies: We use cookies on our website. A "cookie" is a small piece of information stored by a web server on a web browser so it can be later read back from that browser. Cookies are useful for enabling the browser to remember information specific to a given user. You may check out our cookies policy here. Cookies enable the Platform to provide certain features and functionality.

Information from Other Sources

We may receive information described in this Privacy Notice from other sources, such as: Social Network Platforms: If you choose to register or access the Platform using third-party social network account details (e.g. Meta, X, TikTok, Google, Snapchat) or a login service, you will provide us or allow to provide us with your username, profile, and other necessary personal information related to such an account. We may likewise share certain information with your social network, such as your mobile application identification number, access token and referring uniform reference locator (URL). If you link any third party account to the Platform, we may receive information about your use of that service.

  1. We may receive information about you from others, including where you are included or mentioned in user content, direct messages, in a complaint, appeal, request or feedback submitted to us, or if your contact information is provided to us. We may collect information about you from other publicly available sources.

How we Use your Personal Information

  1. We use your personally identifiable information to:
    • verify your identity and authenticate your access to a user account;
    • communicate with you about your account and provide necessary user support;
    • manage risk, fraud and abuse of our services;
    • provide you with information about other services we offer which you may not have signed up for or may not be available at the time of your onboarding;
    • process your requests, resolve disputes and troubleshoot problems;
    • enforce our Terms and any other agreement which you may sign with us;
    • assist with researches on our business model;
    • customise, measure and improve our services and/or Platform;
    • compare information for accuracy and verify with third parties;
    • comply with our obligations and to enforce the terms of our sites and services, including to comply with all applicable laws and regulations; and
    • trail information breach and remediate such identified breaches.

    By continuing to use our platform, you understand that we may:
    • Market any of our products, and/or our partner’s products and services, to you.
    • Use cookies to provide a targeted display, feature, service or offer to you, in accordance with our cookies policy. Where you do not intend to, or you no longer want to receive targeted displays, features or any of our services, please send an email to dpo@oddience.io.
  2. Transfer of your Personal Information: TWe may transfer your personal information with our partners outside Nigeria. However, we strictly adhere to regulatory guidelines relating to such transfer, including
    • adequate level of protection, confirmation of sound data protection practices, etc. by the receiver of your transferred data;
    • the provision of consent by the user having been informed of the possible risks in the absence of adequate protection;
    • the performance of a contract which the user is a party to;
    • public interest;
    • the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims; or
    • the protection of the vital interests of the user where there is a physical or legal inability to give consent.
  3. Retention of Information Oddience takes appropriate measures to ensure that your personal data is only processed and retained for a period in line with the purposes set out in our data retention policy, or as may be otherwise required by law.

What Constitutes your Consent?

Consent has to be expressly given, and so given through a positive action. We obtain your consent when you click on a consent icon shown to you on our Platform. You can withdraw your consent at any time. But, when you do, your withdrawal will not affect the processing of your personal data which we already carried out based on your consent before your withdrawal.

Your Rights

  1. You can exercise the following rights with respect to your personal data with Oddience:
    • request and access your personal data, which we collected and stored;
    • withdraw your consent at any time. For example, you can withdraw your consent to receive our marketing or promotional materials or unsubscribe to our newsletters;
    • object to automated decision making;
    • request rectification and modification of your personal data;
    • request for deletion of your personal data;
    • refuse or disable cookies by adjusting your device browser settings. However, if you choose to refuse, disable, or delete cookies, some of the functionality of the Platform may no longer be available to you.
    • be informed of and entitled to provide consent prior to the processing of personal data for purposes other than that for which the personal data were collected;
    • request that we restrict processing of your personal data; and
    • request for information regarding any specific processing of your personal data.

Security

  1. Oddience is committed to managing customer information with the highest standards of information security. We protect your personal information using physical, technical, and administrative security measures to reduce the risks of loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, and alteration. To prevent unauthorised access to or disclosure of information, we have physical, electronic and managerial procedures in place to keep your information safe.
  2. The security of your Oddience user account also rests on the protection of your login details, which consist of your username, email address or phone number and password. You should not share your password with anyone and no employee of Oddience will ever ask you for either of these, so any email or correspondence requesting such information should be treated as unauthorised and suspicious and forwarded to dpo@oddience.io.
    We will endeavour to respond to such emails as soon as possible.
  3. When you share your login details with any third parties, such third parties will have access to your account and your personal information, and you may be responsible for any actions taken using this information. Oddience shall not be liable or responsible for any breach or loss arising from the disclosure of your login details or other private information to any third parties. In the event you suspect a third party has gained access to your password, please log into your Oddience profile, change it and notify us immediately.
  4. Although we make good faith efforts to store information in a secure operating environment that is not open to the public, you should understand that there is no such thing as complete security, and we do not guarantee that there will be no unintended disclosures of your information. If we become aware that your information has been disclosed in a manner not in accordance with this Privacy Notice, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you of the nature and extent of the disclosure (to the extent we know that information) as soon as reasonably possible and as permitted by law.
  5. We will, from time to time, include links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers and affiliates. If you access any of the website links, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check these policies before you submit any information to these websites.

Submission of Information

Any person submitting information to Oddience through our platform may be granted access rights to that information. Oddience has developed systems that enable users to access and correct their personal information submitted to it. Oddience is committed to ensuring that personal data processed by the company is accurate and up to date in line with the provisions of the applicable data protection law. In order to ensure that your personal data with the company is current, complete and accurate, please update us if there are changes to your personal information by informing the company’s compliance team via the stated contact details. We shall take it that your records with the company are current, complete and accurate if we do not receive any update from you.

Oddience Employee Obligation

Oddiencee employees who handle personal information are under an obligation to treat it confidentially and may not disclose it to third parties. Oddience employees are also responsible for the internal security of the information. Employees who violate Oddience's privacy policies are subject to the company’s disciplinary procedures.

If you receive any email or are asked for your password by anyone claiming to work for us, please forward the e-mail or report the incident by e-mail to our Data Protection Officer.

Children and Teens:

We do not knowingly collect or maintain personally-identifying information from anyone under the age of 16, unless or as permitted by law. Any person who provides personally-identifying information through the Platform represents to us that he, she, or they are 16 years of age or older. If we learn that personal data has been collected from a user under 16 years of age on or through the Platform, then we will take the appropriate steps to cause this information to be deleted.

If you are the parent or legal guardian of a child under 16 who has become a member of the Platform or has otherwise transferred personal data to the Platform, please contact us via our customer helplines or by email to dpo@oddience.io to have that child’s account terminated and information deleted.

Privacy Notice Updates

  1. Oddience may at any time amend, delete, or add to its Privacy Notice by giving notice of such changes or posting a revised version of our Privacy Notice on our website. Any change will be made unilaterally by us and you will have been deemed to have been informed of these changes by your continuous use of our services after the revised Privacy Notice is uploaded. Where there is a fresh processing requirement that is not envisaged at the time of your onboarding with us and is not covered by the existing lawful basis we have (consent or otherwise), we will request your consent or rely on any other lawful basis in accordance with applicable laws. We will make efforts to display a notice of any change to our Privacy Notice on our website. Notwithstanding this, you further agree that it is your sole responsibility to check for updates to the Privacy Notice.
  2. If you do not accept any change, you will be required to close your Oddience user account; otherwise you will be deemed to be on notice and comfortable with the new terms. Any closure of the account still renders you liable to Oddience for any liability incurred by you prior to closure.
